Peace is a pertinent instrument for sustainable development, particularly in Africa where nations are still developing or underdeveloped. Difficulties in executing sustainable development plans due to the constant recurrence of violent conflicts may be insurmountable, even in the near future if a more effective measure is not adopted to avert the situation now. Africa has tried different conflict resolution measures yet in the analysis of post-colonial Africa violent conflicts have been recurring realities. Violent conflicts develop differently and take different dimensions, so are their causal factors, with consequences very obvious in stagnated or retarded development. Sustainable development can be attained through the peaceful co-existence of nations. Okobia (2017) states that the purpose of education is always to respond and adapt positively to the challenges posed by the vicissitude of socio-economic and political manifestations to the quality of life for citizens in time and place, hence incorporating peace education in the school curriculum for conflict resolution and sustainable development is suggested. The paper examined the concepts of peace education, curriculum and conflict resolution. It also discussed their roles in sustainable development.
